Some other fun things to do with the Tilt 2

paulmah

In spite of “losing the laptop,” the HTC Tilt 2 isn’t all about work.  The team over at HTC appeared to have worked hard to improve its ease of use.  For example, do you know that pulling out the stylus during a call will open the notes application by default?  And that the device will go into speakerphone mode if face down during a call?  Of course, these are configurable options that can be disabled as necessary.

The ease of use aside, I have come up with a number of fun things that you can use the Tilt 2 for based on my experience with the Tilt 2 so far.

Use it as a photo album

Simply slide out the display and tilt it at a comfortable angle.  Launch the photo album software, select the appropriate album of choice and set it into slide show mode.  Viola!  An instant photo frame that you can place somewhere on your desk (or hotel room).  In fact, you can even set the transition method of your choice, which ranges from something as mundane as the default “Fade” to interesting-sounding options like “Split Vertical In” and “Box Out.”

Listen to the FM Radio

Tired out after a long day of work?  Well, plug in the wired headset and switch over to the “FM Radio” application.  Unwind as you listen to the tunes.  And no, cappuccino is not included.

Play Games

Well, I didn’t manage to try out all of them, but there’s 10 different games packed into the handy “Games” folder.  Among them are classics such as Sudoku, Solitaire, Scrabble, and yes, even Guitar Hero IV!  Well, I actually gave Guitar Hero IV a spin and found that it is only a trial version.  Oh well, I suppose I can just purchase any games that I want via the Microsoft Marketplace.
